Ancillary revenue guru IdeaWorks has taken a detailed look at six airlines’ post-booking email marketing efforts. IdeaWorks found that the big revenue earners for airlines – bags and seats – are not promoted as actively as car hire and hotels which are less lucrative.

The original idea of tourist offices and visitor centers was to provide visitors with helpful information; however, with the birth of the internet, Wi-Fi, and smartphones,tourists can easily have access to online information and the value of these service centers in the digital age is certainly worth a discussion.
